Tell us about your personal values

It took me a while to think of this as there are so many values I have but what really hit home was courage. Courage is something I have grown and strengthened in my 15 plus years in the hire industry. It is a tough industry with high expectations, easy burnout, difficult conversations and all sorts of challenges you face every day. I have learned to speak up when something is not right, stand up for myself and also not be afraid to have those tough conversations.

What does life look like at home?

I relocated from the Pilbara after 13 years up north living in Karratha and settled into the beautiful south west 7 years ago. I love being close to the beach and being able to venture out to the wine region and explore what the amazing southwest has to offer.

Last year I became a Mum for the first time and have had the best chapter of my life begin. I have now returned to work after taking 12 months off. I am currently part time 3 days a week and am absolutely loving the balance between the 2 and being back at work working with the team again. My fiancé is FIFO so we work really hard to have quality family time together as well.

I also am a bit of a crazy cat lady but have lost a bit of the crazy since having a baby!

What lead you to work in this field?

I was head hunted many years ago in the Pilbara where the area manager at the time wanted a bright bubbly personality on the front service counter and with strong customer service skills. I had never worked with machinery or had any sales experience previously so it was a complete sea change and exciting opportunity.

What are you passionate about at work?

I am an extremely competitive soul! So I love the challenge of sales with prospecting new business, maintaining local relationships and to be honest who doesn’t like to win? I am passionate about mentoring and being a sounding board in the business and helping my female colleagues grow. I enjoy growing and learning every day with not just yourself but your colleagues. I love bringing high energy wherever I go whether it be at a mine site or back at the hire branch.
