What is SWWIMM?

South West Women in Infrastructure, Mining & Minerals, or SWWIMM for short, is a network of women who support, educates, and provide opportunities for women and allies in the infrastructure, mining and mineral resources industries to network within the South West region of Western Australia.

What are the objects of the Association?

To empower and connect women and allies working in infrastructure, mining and minerals across the South West region of Western Australia by:

  1. Centralising and promoting events: SWWIMM will serve as a central hub for information on industry events relevant to women in these sectors. This will help overcome the challenge of limited access to opportunities, particularly in regional areas.

  2. Facilitating networking: The network will provide bespoke events and opportunities for members to connect, collaborate, and build relationships with other women and allies in the industry.

  3. Advocating gender equity: By fostering a supportive community and increasing the visibility of women in these traditionally male-dominated fields, SWWIMM aims to contribute to a more balanced workforce.

This purpose statement highlights SWWIMM's core goals of information sharing, connection, education, networking and advocating for gender equity within the infrastructure, mining and minerals industry workplaces of the South West.
